Sacrament of Marriage

Congratulations on your decision to pursue the sacrament of Marriage at St. Jerome Church! We believe that marriage is a sacred union, where a man and woman are joined in the presence of God and blessed at the altar.

To ensure a smooth and meaningful journey towards your wedding day, we kindly request that you reach out to us at least 6 months in advance to begin the necessary preparations. The first step is to contact our office, where you will have the opportunity to meet with the priest or celebrant to conduct the marriage Pre-Marriage Interview (PMI).

Following the PMI, you will be required to participate in a marriage preparation course, which is facilitated by the Diocese of Bridgeport. This course is designed to provide you with essential tools, insights, and guidance as you embark on this lifelong journey together.

During the course, we can work together to select a suitable date for your marriage ceremony and make the necessary preparations while you complete the course. We understand that this is an exciting time for you, and we are here to support and assist you every step of the way.

As the day of your marriage approaches, it is essential to contact the city and obtain a marriage license. The celebrant will sign the license, and it will be sent directly to the city on your behalf, ensuring that all legal requirements are fulfilled.

We encourage you to reach out to our office if you have any intentions of getting married in our church. Our dedicated staff is available to answer any questions you may have and guide you through the process with care and attention to detail.

At St. Jerome, we consider it a privilege to be a part of your special day and witness the divine union that takes place within the sacrament of Marriage. We look forward to walking alongside you as you prepare for a lifetime of love, commitment, and shared faith within our church community.
