16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Fr. Rojin Karickal • Jul 21, 2023

In Matthew chapter 13; 24-43, Jesus shares several parables, including the Parable of the Weeds and the Parable of the Mustard Seed. These passages convey profound messages relevant to the 16th Sunday of Ordinary Time. The Parable of the Weeds reminds us that amidst the challenges and struggles in life, goodness and evil coexist, and God's judgment will ultimately separate them. On this Sunday, we are called to reflect on our actions and strive to grow as faithful servants, like the mustard seed that grows into a tree. It's a time to embrace the potential of small beginnings and nurture our faith with love and compassion. Let this message inspire us to stay resilient, knowing that even amidst difficulties, God's love and grace will prevail, transforming our lives and the world around us.

I encourage everyone to explore the website and discover the exciting new features and information it offers. From parish updates to interactive tools, this website is designed with you in mind. On behalf of the St. Jerome Parish Community, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to these individuals who tirelessly worked together to bring this website to life. Together, let's continue to strengthen our bonds as a community and deepen our faith journey through this enriched digital platform.

We are excited to announce the implementation of our new online giving platform for Saint Jerome Church. After careful consideration, we have decided to make the significant move from Faith Direct to Our Sunday Visitor giving platform. This decision was guided by three crucial reasons.

  1. Firstly, by transitioning to this new platform, we anticipate saving over $6,000 annually, which can be allocated to further support our parish and its mission.
  2. Secondly, Our Sunday Visitor, a reputable Catholic company that serves churches nationwide, will oversee managing this giving platform, ensuring reliability and seamless integration with our website.
  3. Finally, this new platform provides our kind-hearted donors with convenient access to their giving information through the website, enabling them to effortlessly monitor and handle their donations.

We believe this upgrade will enhance our ability to manage the digital needs of our community efficiently, fostering a deeper sense of stewardship and connection among our parishioners. We look forward to this positive change as we continue to strengthen our faith community together.

With the changes in our giving platform, we kindly request your attention to this important message. Please take a moment to visit our website and navigate to the ‘GIVING’ tab, following the instructions provided there to create your online giving account. Don't forget to save your email address and password, as this will enable you to access the website conveniently and make any required giving changes whenever necessary. We understand that this may involve some additional effort on your part, but we assure you that it will be a tremendous blessing for our Parish moving forward. Should you have any inquiries or need assistance, Natalie from our office is more than willing to help you set up your account and make any needed adjustments. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated, and together, let's make this transition happen as soon as possible, strengthening our Parish community and advancing our shared mission. Thank you for your support!

I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support, affection, and concern. Yours Lovingly ~ Fr. Rojin.
