You will be reading this on the Feast of the Epiphany which also happens to be the weekend of Emmaus 39. This weekend 13 teens and a team of 45 will head to Danbury for a weekend of community, prayer, fun and an atmosphere designed to help the teens see and experience the depth of God’s love. Each year Emmaus proves to be life changing for one or more of the candidates. Without an adult team and many returning college students we could not undertake such a huge task. Every Emmaus weekend is an example of God’s Grace at work in this community.
Also, remember that after the 9:15am Mass on Sunday, January 15th, The Second Sunday in Ordinary Time, we will be honoring Sr. Agnes. She has given us many years of dedication to the parish as well as her great gift of having the vision to make our worship space so beautiful week after week and season after season. Come and thank her at this reception.
This weekend also marks the start of our ‘Honor Way’ brick campaign. Order forms and an information letter are in the bulletin. Get your orders in early as the initial run of tribute bricks will be four hundred. Checks should be made out to St. Jerome Church. The project will be installed in late May, and you will want to see your special tribute enshrined forever at the entrance to our Church.
Finally, my thanks to all that made Christmas at St. Jerome such a beautiful and gracefilled season. There are too many to name – those who played a role are close to a hundred – such a testament to the strength of this parish. Happy Epiphany and give thanks that God’s plan includes room for everyone!
