What a weekend we just had! Two wonderful events occurred: the 21st annual raffle and the Mass where we invite families who have had a baby Baptized in the last year.
The 21st annual raffle, led by co-chairs John Kuczo and Karen Christensen, was a great success. Over 270 people turned out for the pig roast and the rest of the spectacular food. Tom Bennett, Kevin Harrington, Lee L’Archevesque and Aimee Russo headed up the food team and the results were spectacular. The winners this year were also active parishioners. The $12,000 prize was won by Dominick Monarchie with ticket 0842. The second prize of $2,000 was won by Neil Dennehy. His winning ticket was 0558. The third place winner was Elaine Palacios whose ticket was 0227. The 50/50 winner was Maureen Morrissey who is an active member of the parish as well.
It takes an enormous amount of work to both do the raffle and put on the picnic. Many, many parishioners jumped in to help. Let me list some, always fearing I will leave someone out: Alex Sgoutas, Ronalee Grant, Jeff Kress, Missy Ely, Dick and Annette Maiberger, Lee and Anna L’Archevesque, Lee L’Archevesque Jr., Rusty Cappadona, Jack O’Melia, Brian Kennedy, Joe Jimenez, Peach Kraft, Dan and Florence Loch, Andrea Licek, Tom and Lorraine Larkin, Ginny Konkoski, and so many more. You all work together so well and put the parish first. What a blessing you all are to the parish!
Then, On Sunday morning, Annette Maiberger and our Welcoming Committee hosted a Mass for five parish families whose children were recently baptized. It was followed by a reception in the hall. As they have all year, Aimee and Vin Russo and their family provided refreshments that were delightful. Helping out were: Dick and Annette Maiberger, Judi Dennehy, Florence Loch, Ronalee Grant, Sheila Rietano and other members of the committee.
As usual I am overwhelmed at the generosity of all of you. No wonder our parish did so well on the DMI.
